The lengthy treatment of the torture-virus

... "My expectations were the exact opposite of how things would go. I was at the Center for more than a year, where I was given many possibilities to get better, but I didn’t. It was just like what I experienced in prison. I couldn’t sleep. When I took public transport, people would stand up to get away from me. People stared at me in the street. Sometimes people gave me tissues, or bonbons, and others gave me nasty looks.

It frustrated me more and more -  except for the staff at the bzfo. After one year they began to treat me in different ways to reduce the pain, supported by the disciplines of medicine, psychology, physiotherapy and sport. I had 40 different examinations in the area of medicine alone. They discovered all my health problems, but they couldn’t find the torture-virus.

Success in treating this "torture-virus" was only finally possible with patience and hard work on the part of the therapists at the bzfo. Today I feel that I am being restored to my former self, and the damage  and pain that I had from being tortured, that I was subjected to for over 10 years, has been significantly reduced. (...)“
