At the bzfo, survivors of torture learn to live with the torture they have experienced and the consequences this brings. Often a long-term and intensive treatment is necessary. Our patients receive outpatient care or can receive a more intensive treatment in the day clinic. Without the assistance of interpreters, who communicate across both cultures and languages, our work would be impossible. These costs, however, are covered by welfare offices or health funds in only a few cases.
Other important elements of our work are the Intercultural Healing Garden, art and gestalt therapies, music therapy and kinesiotherapy. Your donation allows us to continue with these creative therapies, as only part of the necessary costs for these services are provided by public funds.
